the importance of being finnegan

reading is important. to both of our families. so, i've been trying to start finn early. the first month or two was so chaotic and crazy that i didn't read to him much and i admonish myself daily because of it. to make-up for it, finn and i have been attending baby storytime at the library, and i read to him daily. at the very least he gets "goodnight moon" read to him before bedtime and before nearly every nap, if he's still awake for it after nursing, to help him establish a routine. but i also am trying to rapidly expand his library of books and read at least one of those to him every day as well. it looks like it is paying off as he shows strong interest in the books themselves and in what i am speaking to him. he's paying attention, and we love it. last night eric was luckily home to see finn "assist" in turning the pages. unfortunately, the most obvious page turn was not filmed as it happened right away. that's when eric went nutso, running through the house for the camcorder. :) afterwards, he said to me, "wow, that was cool". yes, it is cool.

  1. That's really cool! I also like that you added a little video to your blog. Hopefully Nate and I will be able to meet him soon. I feel like a crappy cousin for not making it happen yet. :(

    Hope all is well!
